I can’t believe it in the age of global warming June has turned out to be the coldest in more than a century here in Seattle. With weather records going back to 1852 we are matching and even beating record low temperatures in the region. It’s so cold here that as I type it’s STILL snowing in the mountains! This is the actual forecast from the National Weather Service… “A fierce storm could bring five to 10 inches of new snow to Washington’s Cascade Mountains, particularly in the higher elevation.” I’m going to get my skis out and get up there right away. I can probably count on my hands how many nice days we’ve had all year. I’m been a Northwesterner all my life, but I’m this close to moving to Arizona.

Windows 7 About to Make Vista Obsolete?

Have you upgraded to Microsoft Vista yet? If the answer is no you’re like me. I won’t even touch Vista until I absolutely have to. I was running Windows 2000 on an old machine as long as I could until I bought a new computer that I specifically requested Windows XP to be loaded onto it. Those individuals who haven’t made the jump to Vista yet might not have to because in an expected 2010 release date Microsoft will introduce Windows 7. Microsoft’s Vista is only a year and a half old and already they’re talking about a new operating system. Rumor is Windows 7 will support multi touch screens. May be they’re just trying to garner some buzz stealing Apple’s marketing hype machine dominance.

Reflecting on Earth Quake in China

I found this set of May 12^th 8.0 Magnitude Earth Quake in China pictures while browsing another blog. The pictures are so striking I had to share them with my readers. According to the associated press the death toll has risen to 68,109. The destructive power of the earth quake was so devastating it’s hard to fully grasp without actually going there. I think these pictures give a pretty good indication. The photos were taking at a wedding.
